~All 2016 Kids' Digs are full at this time! Please check back next year for dates and availibility~

Kids' Dig allows children ages 8-12 to explore real paleontological activities! During the course of the camp, kids dig alongside our actual paleontologists, prospect for invertebrate fossils they can keep, use the same tools professionals do to clean the dinosaur bones, take a guided tour of the museum, and make their own fossil casts to take home. The fossils they discover here are 150 million years old! All the while, our paleo-technicians answer their questions and teach them about fossils--what they were like as living animals, how they fossilized, and why we study them. The cost for the 2016 Kids' Dig is $85.00 and this includes a t-shirt, water bottle, lunch, fossils and collection bag.

At 9:00 AM, Participants are split to groups so that no one activity is overloaded and we are able to give them personal attention. We provide sack lunches, then a 15-20 minute recess. At 4:00 PM, participants go home with invertebrate fossils they found and their plaster cast of a fossil.

We suggest wearing sunscreen, wearing closed toed shoes such as hiking shoes or tennis shoes and wearing clothes that can get dirty.
